Knot without End

His first Tarquin book Geometric Patterns from Roman Mosaic arose from his work as a teacher. Five further titles followed and have been used by a variety of people as a basis for creative design, from quilt patterns to paving and marquetry.

He has traveled widely throughout the Roman world seeing, studying and photographing mosaic sites. He is a founder member of the British Association for Modern Mosaic and edits their journalANDAMENTO and believes passionately in mosaic as a medium for artistic expression.

His work as a mosaic artist has appeared in many exhibitions, both in Britain and abroad, and he has also organized two exhibitions, The Four Seasons (2006) and The Four Elements (2008) featuring the innovative work of leading modern mosaicists. He had a solo exhibition at Salisbury and Devizes Museums in 2004. Currently, he is working towards a major solo exhibition in 2012/13 to be held at two venues - Cirencester Museum (September and October) and Dorchester Museum (November to January).
