Maths posters and mathematical art from a long-standing publisher
Tarquin has been publishing posters for over 40 years. Most of the range covers mathematics and mathematical art, alongside a small selection of IT titles for younger students. The collection is arranged alphabetically by title, so you can go straight to the one you need.
Choosing a poster format for your wall
Many of Tarquin's titles are printed at A1 (840 × 600 mm) on thick paper, which gives them far more presence than a printable A4 sheet. Several are also available encapsulated for a longer life, the more durable choice for a busy school classroom wall. Each educational poster stays up as a reference that students can return to all year.
- The Golden Ratio Mathematics Poster by Richard Phillips explores the golden ratio visually and mathematically. It pairs especially well with the Fibonacci Numbers title.
- The Polygons Large Mathematics Poster sets out the properties of key shapes up to decagons, both regular and irregular. Each image shows the angle sum as the sum of its triangles.
Matching a wall chart to the age band you teach
For the age band you teach, look first at the topic the chart needs to reinforce. In early years, a colourful chart of numbers 1-20 supports counting and number recognition. Through primary school, times tables and multiplication grids are the usual focus, with fractions following as pupils move up.
At GCSE, key vocabulary and formulae are worth keeping in view during revision. Maths posters for older students tend to carry more detail, so they reward a closer read rather than a quick glance.
Using a maths poster in teaching and learning
In the classroom, a poster works well when it supports the topic you are teaching, so key maths ideas stay in view between maths classes and back up wider maths and numeracy work across the week. A display of linked titles, such as the golden ratio next to Fibonacci numbers, helps learning connect from one idea to the next. As a resource, a well-chosen title keeps supporting learning long after the lesson ends.
Please note that large tubes carry additional carrier charges, so Tarquin adds a small surcharge per order to cover carriage. You will see this in your basket.
Out of stock items: we are constantly monitoring our stock levels. Where an item is listed as out of stock, look for the Back in Stock options. Usually you can choose between getting an email alert when an item is back in stock, or buying now at a discount, so that you do not have to duplicate postage costs.
