Dice - D10 00-90 Place Value
Tarquin’s 10-sided place value dice are numbered 00–90, so every roll lands on a whole number of tens. Hands-on, the idea clicks when a child rolls 70 and reads it as seven tens.
These 00-90 dice are ten-sided dice with one job: each face shows a multiple of ten. That suits a place value lesson as well as a gaming table.
D10 place value dice: sizes, singles and packs
- 00–90: each face shows a multiple of ten
- Available in standard (approx 22 mm) and Jumbo sizes (approx 40 mm)
- Singles available: email Tarquin to specify a colour
- Packs of 3 and 10, mixed colours
Like all dice, these are small parts: a choking hazard for children under 3. Keep them for pupils old enough to roll and read them without supervision at every turn.
How to read percentile dice for a d100 roll
To roll percentile dice, pair this percentile die with a 0–9 D10, then roll both dice together. The 00–90 die gives the tens place and the 0–9 die gives the units.
In practice, a percentile roll of 40 and 7 reads as 47. A roll of 00 with a 0 counts as 100, so the d100 range runs from 1 to 100.
Tabletop and RPG players use this d100 roll for any random number from 1 to 100. In a set of DnD dice, this pair sits alongside the d20 used for most checks. In the classroom, the same pair shows how a number is built from tens and ones.
